biotherapy with maggots

Maggots clean wounds and promote healing. The hungry maggots are about the size of a grain of rice when they are applied. Some report the sensation of bugs crawling on skin. When released on dead tissue, such as an open wound or ulcer, the animals secrete an agent that dissolves only the necrotic parts, so they can feed on it more easily. The healthy tissue remains untouched. At the same time, the secreted fluid acts as a disinfectant and accelerates the healing process. The "maggot soup" serves as a meal for the animals, which need to do just two things - eat and grow.
